June 18, 2022 A cycling event in the beautiful Creston Valley.
Choose from one of three routes.
Gran Fondo - 151.7km ride with stunning views of Kootenay Lake, snow capped mountains, bucolic farm country and a long hill climb, all of which will take your breath away!
Medio Fondo- 98.6 km ride with stunning views of Kootenay Lake and snow capped mountains.
Piccolo Fondo - 55.5km ride with stunning views of Kootenay Lake and snow capped mountains.
Check crestonkootenaylakegranfondo.com for more informationSunday September 25, 2022. A 5 km, 10 km and half marathon on Nick's Island on the Creston Valley Flats. This is a relatively flat course, through a bucolic wildlife area, surrounded by farms.
10K and 5K Course:
Starts at Wildlife Center and flanks the conservation area wetlands, with rolling hills on pavement for 10km(5km) out and back course
Starts at Wildlife Center and winds around conservation area wetlands, enters rolling hills through treed areas and past home sites arriving at Kootenay River where it is flat and adjacent to the winding river for 9km and returning to Wildlife Center via the same route in reverse. A very scenic route where bald eagles, deer and other wildlife are seen.

The Creston Rotary Club Father Barnes Scholarship was created in memory of Father Barnes to honour his dedication to those in community who needed help. The recipients of this scholarship must reside in the Creston Valley, have a demonstrable financial need and are continuing their education at a recognized post-secondary education institution.
